I am interested in the interior journeys that we all take. The experiences we have that shape our identities. The labels that we and others use to define ourselves. The significance of verbal language in creating perceptions and persona's. I respond to record lyrics, overheard conversations on bus journeys, media slogans, etc; This is probably a legacy from working as a freelance illustrator. My work has been described as "Esoteric and idiosyncratic. A unique visual language." I work in mixed media, usually found objects (this includes donated items, charity shop buys, etc;). I have no fixed way of working. Images will evolve from collecting objects, changing the surfaces, distorting and re-appropriating found images, type, etc; The juxtapositioning of these objects creates new meaning.

I have recently become a member of the Bankley Studio group, after being in the art wilderness for the last 5 years. For the Open Studios 2007 I've decided to show a retrospective piece of work. It was started in 1998 and completed in 2001. It has not been shown as a finished work before. This consists of ten images and is autobiographical. However as the viewer, you will give it the meaning you choose to, depending on your own experiences.
