Draw in the Crowds

A Big Draw event in the Gallery
10,11 & 12 October 2003
Open 12 - 5 Friday and Sun
day, 10.30 - 5 on Saturday (including workshop)

Artist exhibition and developmental workshop involving the public exploring drawing techniques and materials

Bankley Studios is pleased to present its first Big Draw event Draw in the Crowds, which combines an exhibition of artists' work, with a developmental workshop. The built environment and journeys through it provide the theme for both the workshop and artist exhibition, which will be based in the gallery over one weekend (National Family Weekend), and will explore a range of drawing techniques and materials.

Friday - visitors to the gallery will be able to enjoy the artist exhibition, and draw inspiration from the drawing techniques implemented, in preparation for the workshop the following day.

Saturday - be prepared to get messy for this drop-in workshop (10.30 - 5) in the gallery space. Visitors are invited to work with studio artists to produce a huge panoramic cityscape over the course of the day. All ages and abilities are welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. The exhibition of artists' work can still be viewed on this day.

Sunday - the gallery returns to an exhibition space, showcasing the results of the one day workshop alongside the exhibition of work by artists.

The Big Draw is a nationwide initiative to encourage people to draw, there are a huge number of events taking place across the country, for more information about the Big Draw and similar events visit www.drawingpower.org.uk
