Bringing in the New Year at Bankley Gallery is a selection of work by Trafford based artist T E Kennedy. These vibrant abstract paintings relate to the generic frameworks which have structured visual cultures throughout history, such as the matrix and the web, and in particular to the incidental elements which support the principal geometry. In this series of paintings, the artist has revisited the motifs and designs of several past civilisations including Arabic, Celtic and Japanese traditions.

Kennedy has many years experience in the field of Urban Design, and the paintings reflect his interest in spatial structure and organisation, and the importance of linkages, nodal points and edges.
