The Bankley Open Call 2015 returns for the third year. The annual open exhibition once again invites contemporary artists of any age or experience living within the UK, and working in any 2D media, video, or sculpture, to participate and be in with a chance of winning our first prize of £400 and a solo show at Bankley Gallery next year. We also have a second prize of £100 and a month long residency in our project space. There will also be a 'People's Prize' award, with visitors selecting a winner to receive £100 vouchers generously sponsored by Fred Aldous.
The selection of work and award of prizes will be made by an impressive panel:
Bryony Bond - Curator, The Whitworth
Matthew Pendergast - Programme Manager, Castlefield Gallery
Paul Stanley - Programme and Engagement Coordinator, CFCCA
Holly Rowan Hesson - Artist, winner of Bankley Open Call 2014
Congratulations to the winners:
First Prize: Matt Davies with ‘Tower’
Second Prize: Sarah Blaszczok with ‘Groundwork 1’
The winner of the 'People's Prize' kindly sponsored by Fred Aldous is James Roper with ‘Vertex Transitive 1’.
