The Bankley Open Call 2016 returns for the fourth year. The annual open exhibition once again invites contemporary artists of any age or experience living within the UK, and working in any 2D media, video, or sculpture, to participate and be in with a chance of winning our first prize of £500 and a solo show at Bankley Gallery in 2017, plus a selection of other prizes.

The selection of work and award of prizes will be made by an impressive panel:

Entry Guidelines:

Key Dates:

Submission deadline: Friday 9th September 2016 (midnight)
Notification of selection: by 16th September 2016
Delivery of exhibiting art works: 25th September 2016, 12 - 6pm, or by prior arrangement
Exhibition Private View and Awards Ceremony: 7th October 2016, 6-9pm
Exhibition continues Saturdays and Sundays 12 - 4pm until 29th October 2016

Pick-up of work: 30th of October 12-6pm, or by alternative arrangement

1. Download and fill in the Application Form. Download as a DOC file or download as a ODT file
2.Send Images of up to three pieces of artwork (Max. 1MB, jpeg).
Please email your entries to: opencall@bankley.org.uk
3. Pay £15 Entry Fee via the Paypal button.
Please add your name when paying so we can easily link up payments with application forms  (or quote your paypal reference on the Application Form)

Please return your completed application form and images to opencall@bankley.org.uk before Friday 9th September 2016 (midnight)

By submitting this application, applicants are agreeing to the conditions of entry, as listed below, including:

By entering the Open Call 16, Artists are agreeing that their work will be available for the dates stated in the application form. Artists take full responsibility for the delivery and shipping of any selected work(s).
Artists are hereby agreeing to allow Bankley Studios and Gallery to use an image of their artwork on publicity associated with the Open Call 2016, unless otherwise arranged.
Artists must also guarantee that by submitting the work they are of his, or her own origination, and that he or she holds all moral and intellectual property rights in that work.
Art work can be for sale, and Bankley Gallery do not charge commission.
Please ensure that all wall mounted artworks are already equipped with mirror plates, and that any sculpture/installation/video/projection requirements are by arrangement. 
Work collection after the exhibition will take place on 30th October 2016, or by arrangement. Works not collected after this date (or otherwise arranged) will be disposed of.
Bankley Studios & Gallery are not liable for any loss or damage incurred to the artwork if shortlisted and exhibited, and advises all artists to seek their own insurance.
All proceeds from the Open Call is used for the prizes, promotion and exhibition of the competition. Any additional funds are donated to Bankley Gallery for the continuation of the programme of exhibitions. 
Whilst the judges have been selected and have agreed to take part in selecting work for the Open Call and awarding the prizes, under exceptional circumstances Bankley Studios & Gallery hold the right to adjust the line-up at any time throughout the Open Call.
