My paintings and drawings are of landscapes. In detail they are of no specific place. They are drawings of outside spaces, of my experiences and memories. I paint them with a need to capture the places and events that I find remarkable.

In practice I push paint around, excavate its layers and redraw its surfaces until I am satisfied with its ability to describe itself and the experience that informs it.

It's an enquiry into the nature of paint. Where its physical application and treatment create an interior landscape and dialogue. One that flirts between the practice of painting and the documenting of outside experience.
