Ciara is a photographer who has lived in Levenshulme since 2003. Her work is rooted in community and questions about representation.
She has worked on independent documentary projects with communities including Eastern European Roma and indigenous Travellers.
During the pandemic, she developed a community project and book, Levy Lockdown Portraits, followed by a zine celebrating the creativity of 36 local residents.
Since then she has worked on socially engaged projects within a homeless charity, a mental health space and asylum seeker support organisation, among others. She is an artist in residence at Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool and works as a photography tutor at Manchester Metropolitan University.
