'This art series is in two parts and explores natural identity using two modes of expression: hair sewing and drawing. The nurture/nature debate is addressed in the first half of this series with the use of hair. The 2nd half of the series uses found natural matter and extends its aesthetic characteristic through an evolutionary drawing principle. Techniques within the works may lead down a blind alley in the way an evolutionary tree 'stumps' when the environmental demand surpasses innate abilities. While escaping into the drawing, various evolutionary avenues will become evident.'
